Shake Out Day
This week on Thursday we had to do a earthquake drill. This was part of national shake out day. We got a warning on the school intercom that there is a earthquake and then we went under the table that we were sitting at. Then we had to wait until the call came to evacuate. And then we went up the hill across the rd because this is the safe zone if there is a tsunami. It didn't take long for us to get up there but we need to work on moving more calmly instead of pushing.
What is your plan for an earthquake?

Persuasive Writing
This week we are doing persuasive writing because we have a test next week which we need to recap for. This was quite an easy topic to write about. Here is my writing...
Dogs make better pets than cats.
People have dogs and cats as pets all over the world. Many people prefer cats but I strongly agree that dogs make better pets than cats.
Firstly you can take dogs for walks and you can get fit as well as your dog. This will help people stay healthy and live longer and better.
Secondly dogs are good because you can use them for pig hunting, duck hunting, deer hunting, farm dogs to round up the sheep guide dogs.
Finally dogs can protect you and cats can’t, and they can protect you when you are at home and when you are outside.
In conclusion dogs are better than cats because dogs can protect you, can help you and also keep you fit.

Mrs P's Garden Gang - PrEP
The last couple of weeks I have been in the garden for PrEP. As it is spring we have been digging over all of the gardens, weeding the raspberries and black currants, and planting potatoes. Next week we are going to plant peas and lettuces. We sell the produce from our school garden on our market stall at the end of the year. We will also use some of it to prepare a dinner for our Year 8's as a farewell.

Recycling Argument
This term we have been working on writing arguments. Here is an argument that Harris and I did together about recycling.
Whitebait Pond Restoration
This week we are cleaning out our whitebait breeding pond to prepare for more whitebait to be put in the pond. We care for the young whitebait in our pond and then we catch and release them in the Cobden lagoon just before breeding season. We all love whitebaiting so we are trying to help keep the whitebait population alive.
Maths Art
This week in maths we have been doing tessellation. I did a DLO and I did a tessellation art also. Here is my work.
