This is the flood from yesterday on the West Coast.  The floods destroyed a bridge down by Franz Josef.  The road will be shut for a while so people will not be able to get down to Haast.

My opinion is I think it is pretty stink because now no one can go across the bridge so it might stop tourists coming.

What's been in the news this week?

This week in the news there was a story about dolphins stranding themselves on an island.

Thirteen common dolphins were found dead near the entrance to the Marlborough Sounds last week. Two more stranded after that, one of which was successfully re-floated by local landowners. They are not sure why the dolphins beached themselves as they didn't seem to be sick.

This is really sad for the dolphins.

Why has Auckland’s transport authority been removing Lime scooters from the city?

In Auckland some scooters seem to have a fault in the brakes. Several people have been hurt because of a serious fault where the front brake locks up without warning.  The council placed a temporary ban on the e-scooters last week. Image result for lime scooter
A decision whether Lime scooters will be allowed back on the streets of Auckland is going to be made today.
I think it a good idea to ban the lime scooters forever because they are dangerous.

I wonder what they will decide?

What do you think about lime scooters?

What's Been In The News This Week...

New Zealand police are spending $20.7 million on body armour. It is more comfortable and lighter.

Facts: The armour would stop most rifle rounds
Each set cost $1300 and they will be issued over the next three years.

I think it's a good idea but 20.7 million is a lot  of money.
